A study was carried out in 2009 to assess the impact of vegetables cultivation according to Sarjan method at Lebukhali, Dumki under Patuakhali district. The study revealed that the local people have evolved many local adaptive practices to deal with the difficult climatic conditions. As scarcity of fresh water and deteriorating soil conditions are the major problems, most of the adaptive practices in the area are related to water and soil management. A net income was 200,000 BDT/ha to 250,000 BDT/ha existing land use from second year. The adaptive practice identified in the study area was vegetables cultivation according to Sarjan method.
