THE GOVERNMENT COACHING ON SMES BUSINESS GROWTH IN BALI PROVINCE
This
explanatory study aimed to examine the effect of government coaching on the
business growth of SMEs mediated by the attitude of the business growth,
subjective norms, and the perceived behavioral control/PBC. The population of
this study includes 180 SMEs entrepreneur’s sampled in the Bali province. Data
were collected using a questionnaire survey using the purposive sampling method
and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results showed
that: (1) Government coaching resulted in positive and significant effects on
the attitude towards the business growth, subjective norms and the
entrepreneurs’ PBC (2) Subjective norms and the entrepreneur’s PBC positively
and significantly influence the business growth of SMEs. (3) The attitude
toward the business growth does not significantly affect the business growth.
(4) The subjective norm and PBC proved to mediate the effect of coachingon
business growth, but not on the attitude towards business growth. Proper and
sustained coaching program for entrepreneurs is necessary to shape a positive attitude
in developing their business.
